People today h get their weather, music, news, and other daily information all instantly from their everyday electronic gadgets and devices. So, why not add recipes to that list? Going the Good-Value Route...

Another pricing option for our eCook cookbook would be to follow the good-value pricing concept. One one specific option would be to simply charge the user a small, one-time fee to download the cookbook application. Another would be to charge a monthly or annual subscription fee in order to use the services provided by the downloaded application. Or we could combine the two options and charge the user a subscription fee on top of an up-front fee to download the application.

"More and more, marketers have adopted god-value pricing strategies - offering just the right amount of quality and good service at a fair price." (Kotler, Marketing: An Introduction Ch, 9 pg. 261)

A Value-based Pricing Idea...

One idea that my company has in addition to making our eCook virtual cookbook application ad-supported, is to include some sort of donation system. This would classify the product as donationware. Additionally, users would have the option of giving money to the company in response to a recipe that they enjoyed, as well as other features. This idea follows the concept of value-based pricing.

"Value based pricing uses buyers' perception of value, not the seller's cost, and the key to pricing." (Kotler, Marketing: An Introduction Ch, 9 pg. 260)
